Created by lauded designer Oji Masanori and handmade by Aizawa Woodworks in Ishikawa Prefecture, this beautiful butter box is part of a special collection of products named kito, meaning “with wood”. The makers believe that nothing provides the warmth and comfort of solid wood. Sized to accommodate various shapes of butter, the solid Japanese cherrywood case is exquisitely crafted to provide a lifetime of use and enjoyment. The wood is finished with a special, food safe “liquid glass” coating that allows it to be easily cleaned and even stored in the refrigerator. The coating is nearly invisible, preserving the natural texture and tone of the wood.
