Teak Mother Duck & Duckling

In the Spring of 1959, a Copenhagen policeman stopped heavy traffic to allow a mother duck and her ducklings to pass. A photograph chronicling the incident found its way into all the newspapers and became quite famous, inspiring Architect Hans Bolling to design these wooden ducks as a reflection on the importance of nature in everyday life. Made of solid teak with a lightly oiled finish to deepen their color, the sophisticated curvatures of the forms add a note of serenity and harmony anywhere they are placed.
