Made in the Kishu region of Japan since the Edo period, Binchotan charcoal is activated by burning oak branches at extremely high temperatures for several days and then rapidly cooling them. Known as the highest quality activated charcoal for purifying water, Binchotan charcoal sticks can be used to absorb chemicals in tap water. Simply immerse a charcoal stick into a glass carafe, water bottle or pitcher. Each package contains three sticks.

Before first use, rinse the charcoal with water, boil for 10 minutes, and allow it to dry completely

Reactivate every two weeks by boiling for 10 minutes and allowing it to dry
