These familiar and favorite garden birds are produced as a true craft product with the input of ornithologists, product designers and artisans. Designed in Sweden, each bird is hand-carved from limewood in Manchuria, China where there is a long standing wood carving tradition carried on by farmers during the winter months. The birds are then hand-painted using non-toxic water based paints. As a testament to their accurate realism, they are used by many schools for instructional purposes.
