Portland-based perfume house Imaginary Authors uses the concept of never-written works of fiction to explore the story telling qualities of fragrance. Created by Josh Meyer, each fragrance evokes a setting and mood that changes with each wearer. Unisex and crafted in small batches, Imaginary Authors is emblematic of the new breed of indie perfumers that draw on the traditions of perfume creation while exploring new and modern directions. We are particularly pleased to offer Mosaic, an exclusive collaboration between Imaginary Authors and Spruce Apothecary. 60 mL bottles.
Please note that due to federal regulations, we are only able to ship fragrances via UPS ground.
Mosaic: Inspired by classical European spa experiences where mineral water and steam flows across ancient tiles, Mosaic mixes notes of petitgrain, bergamot, oak moss, cedarwood, limestone, and artesian well.
Cape Heartache: Inspired by the old growth forests of the Pacific Northwest and themes of leaving the familiar but finding comfort and solace in a new place. Cape Heartache mixes notes of Douglas Fir, pine resin, Western Hemlock, vanilla leaf, strawberry, old growth, and mountain fog.
Falling Into the Sea: Basically sunshine in a bottle—lemon, bergamot, grapefruit, lychee, tropical flowers, and warm sand.
Memoirs of a Trespasser: An adventurous scent, Memoirs of a Trespasser mixes Madagascar vanilla, guaiacwood, myrrh, benzoin resin, ambrette seeds, and oak barrels.
O, Unknown!: A mysterious scent—subtle yet sensuous—incorporating notes of black tea, Lapsang Souchong tincture, orris butter, Kyoto moss, musk balsam, and sandalwood.
Saint Julep: A fresh, sweet scent with a tart undertone; blending sweet mints, tangerine, southern magnolia, bourbon, grisalva, and sugarcube.
Slow Explosions: A scent that explodes on the skin and awakens the senses with saffron, rose absolute, leather, apple, benzoin, cashmeran, and inspired by the Arpora Night Market.
The Soft Lawn: Inspired by long weekends on grass courts, this fresh, green scent contains notes of linden blossoms, laurel and ivy leaves, vetiver, oakmoss, and perhaps just a whiff of fresh tennis balls.
Yesterday Haze: Inspired by California's tranquil and dusty San Joaquin Valley, this scent aims to shift your perceptions with a blend of fig, iris, cream, Tonka, tree bark, walnut bitters, and orchid dust.
