Designed by a former wooden ship builder, these traditional English-style trugs are handmade in Oregon from myrtlewood—an evergreen hardwood tree that is native to the Southern Oregon Coast.

Myrtlewood is prized for its highly variable color and grain patterns, which are influenced by the minerals found in the tree’s soil. Colors range from blonde to dark umber, with shades of honey, reddish brown, and grey in between.

The baskets are completed with rust-proof solid copper hardware and finished with food safe mineral oil, making them ideal for gathering cut flowers and garden produce. They also make excellent all-purpose baskets to organize and store household items.

The natural oil finish may transfer to fabrics and paper when the trug is new
