Toyama Hamono was established in 1861 during the Bunkyu era of the Edo period. Rooted in the craftsmanship of traditional Japanese samurai sword-making, they have been meticulously handcrafting secateurs and shears for nearly 165 years. Toyama Hamono’s garden shears are expertly crafted one by one using modern techniques deeply rooted in Japanese tradition, employing methods such as fire-forging, fire-coloring, and back-grinding or uratogi.
