Polissoir Polishing Brush

Creating using time honored techniques, this natural fiber brush has its roots in France. Known as a polissior, it is used in tandem with beeswax for polishing and burnishing surfaces in traditional woodworking. The handy integrated loop lets you hang it in the workshop or utility room.

Made by hand along Minnesota’s North Shore of Lake Superior, this collection of brushes and brooms reflects a direct relationship with local woods and natural fibers. Materials are selected for strength, simplicity, and honest function. The work follows regional craft traditions that reflect long-standing Scandinavian influences. The result is a range of straightforward, durable and useful objects grounded in place and practice.
