Danish architect Poul Kjaerholm is known for his spare and elegant furniture designs, many of which are in the collections of museums around the world. Kjaerholm was equally concerned with the accessories and fittings for his interior designs, as exemplified by this bowl he created for domestic use in 1963 based on an earlier design for the City Hall of Frederecia, Denmark. Now faithfully reproduced by hand in solid Italian granite, the bowl demonstrates a clarity of form and strength of material that make it a design object extraordinaire. Polished interior, matte textured exterior. Made in Denmark.
