Suzugami - 5 x 5 - Arare

In Japanese, suzu means tin and gami means paper. "Suzugami" is a unique type of thin tin plate that combines the flexibility of origami with the durability needed for repeated bending. By hammering and rolling the tin, skilled craftsmen create multiple metal layers that resist fatigue from bending. This makes it malleable for various uses, from tableware to small trays for jewelry, coins, or other small items. You can shape it yourself, allowing for personalized designs that fit different settings. Each Suzugami features a different hand-hammered texture inspired by weather: Arare (hail), Samidare (Rain), Kazahana (snowflakes).
